Biography

Carla was drawn to this field for a unique reason, she has chronic pain herself. She feels privileged to help others come to the realization that it is very possible to have a full and happy life with chronic pain, and to help show them how to obtain that goal.

Education

Carla graduated with honors in 2000 from the University of Washington School of Nursing. She is also Certified in Biofeedback Therapy with the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America, the leader in the field.

Professional Background

Before working at UBC, Carla worked for Seattle/King County Public Health in the Childcare Health Program. Previously she worked at a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents. She has also worked at the UW Diabetes Care Clinic as well as the Women’s Health Care Clinic, and Family Care Clinic at UW.
