Biography

Dr. Welch facilitates development and implementation of outpatient treatment programs and approaches for treatment of chronic pain with a heavy emphasis on the lower back. He enjoy consulting with and directing the UBC, Inc. treatment team regarding medical issues. Functioning as an evaluator for outpatient program admission, Dr. Welch also contacts attending physicians regarding client return-to-work issues and information.

Education

Dr. Welch completed medical school in 1978 at the University of Michigan. He also underwent four years of medical specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Washington.

Professional Background

Dr. Welch was a Staff Physiatrist at Harmaville Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh, PA prior to beginning his private practice in Bellevue in 1982. His practice, which moved to Redmond in 2001, consists primarily of spinal rehabilitation, but he also treats clients with a wide range of chronic pain, musculoskeletal problems, and industrial injuries. Periodically, he lectures in the Puget Sound area on industrial injuries.

Dr. Welch is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, board certified in Electrodiagnosis, and board certified in Electromyography.
