CARF Accredited Clinics and Programs

"All [UBC, Inc.] staff members are enthusiastic and positive and clearly value the unique needs and strengths of the persons they serve. The organization supports a caring, positive attitude and person-centered approach to rehabilitation." -CARF International

UBC, Inc. has been accredited by CARF for its Return to Work, Pain Management, and Work Hardening Programs.  UBC was also the first CARF accredited program in the State of Washington and now has locations in Bellevue, Everett, Redmond, and Puyallup.

What is CARF accreditation?

Although a number of clinics in Washington identify themselves as pain management specialists, many of them are neither recognized by the large insurance carriers (e.g. Department of Labors and Industries) nor accredited. Only a handful of clinics in the area have "met internationally recognized standards of quality in the provision of outcomes-driven programs and services to enhance the lives of the persons served" (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF). CARF has been setting the standards for excellence in medical rehabilitation for the past 40 years. Not only was UBC, Inc. the first provider of occupational rehabilitation in Washington to receive CARF's esteemed recognition, but UBC has been CARF-accredited since 1989. This past June, upon granting UBC another three-year accreditation (2006-2009), CARF remarked that UBC's "level of professional qualification among clinical staff members is uniformly high."
